Once we receive your application, we will review the donor process with you and answer any questions you may have. Once you are approved, we will then create a profile for you. Then, when we have recipients looking for someone with your characteristics, we will send them your profile. When you are matched, we will then direct you to the treating physician to start the IVF cycle.
- Once you are matched with a recipient, the process goes as follows:
- We will find you an attorney to consult with and review the contract that you will have with the recipient.
- Meet with a psychologist to take a psychological evaluation. The psychologist will discuss issues related to egg donation.
- Meet with the recipient?s doctor and staff. They will do basic blood testing, a pelvic exam including a pap smear, cultures, and an ultrasound, as well as urine tests to check for toxic substances. The doctor will also discuss the medications, procedures, and go over the medication protocol. The cycle can be cancelled at anytime if the treating physician thinks that there might be a high risk for certain complications or if the donor has had any unusual reactions to the medications.
- You will need to follow precise instructions about self administering the injections.
- You will also need to keep all of your medical appointments which can occur daily at the end of the treatment.
- The eggs will be retrieved vaginally by and ultrasound guided needle while receiving anesthesia. You will be observed for a brief period of time before being discharged.
The compensation that you receive by donating your eggs does not reflect the immense amount of appreciation that the recipients have for your generosity. Their gratitude for this extraordinary person continues for many years.
